My family and I are looking forward to the fundraising evening which we have organised on 6th May 2011, in memory of Dad. Although it will be a difficult time for us, raising money and most importantly awareness of lymphatic cancer, makes us feel very positive. It will be a jamm packed evening, which will include a top prize auction and raffle. What's more, the UK's top Bee Gees tribute band, 'Staying Alive UK' will be performing, starring our cousin Bill Howard as Barry Gibb! It seems really appropriate to have 'Staying Alive UK' performing on the night. Dad did not like to dance at parties, but he took a particular liking to the song 'Staying Alive' after watching a scene from the film 'Airplane', starring Leslie Nielsen. I have many fond memories of dragging my Dad up on the dance floor to this song. You could see him enjoying the music and getting into character and this would always put a smile on people's faces! I know that Dad will be really pleased that we are raising money for this charity and the night will be perfect, just as he was!
